1. Who we are

This website (all of its domains: digitalalef.com, digitalalef.ae, digitalalef.eg, and digitalalef.us) is operated by Digital Alef for Digital Empowerment LLC, registered in Sharjah Media City (Shams), Sharjah, United Arab Emirates ("the Company", "we"). The Company is the controller of the personal data collected through this website.

Your data may also be processed, for operational purposes, by the Company's affiliated entities in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America, acting as processors on behalf of the Company and in accordance with this policy.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what you provide voluntarily and what is required to operate the website:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, company name (optional), the service you are interested in, and the text of your message.
  • BiQalam interest form: your name, email address, and your role (parent / school / organization / independent learner).
  • WhatsApp: if you choose to contact us via WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to the conversation, and we retain the content of what you send us.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and the basic server logs required for the security and operation of the website. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that form submissions are not automated; Cloudflare may process limited technical data for this purpose under its own policy.

We do not knowingly collect children's data. The BiQalam form is addressed to adults (parents, teachers, organizations, and adult learners); if we learn that we have collected a minor's data without parental consent, we will delete it.

3. Why we use your data (purposes and basis)

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide the service proposals you requested (performance of your request / pre-contractual steps).
  • To notify you when BiQalam launches, if you registered your interest (your consent — which you may withdraw at any time).
  • To operate and secure the website and prevent abuse (our legitimate interest).
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not send marketing messages without your consent.

4. Who we share your data with

We share data only with:

  • The Company's affiliated entities (Egypt, United States) for operational and support purposes.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf and under our instructions: hosting on servers we manage at Hetzner (Germany), Cloudflare (DNS/protection), and Microsoft 365 (email).
  • Public authorities where we are under a legal obligation.

5. International data transfers

Your data may be stored or processed in the UAE, Germany, Egypt, and the United States. We apply appropriate safeguards (contractual and technical) to protect transferred data, consistent with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL)) and the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law (Egypt Law No. 151 of 2020), as applicable.

6. Retention

  • Contact messages: up to 24 months from the last contact, unless a contract results (in which case they are kept as part of the contract records).
  • BiQalam interest registrations: until the launch notification and then 6 months, or until you withdraw your consent.
  • Technical logs: up to 90 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its processing, withdraw your consent, receive a copy of your data (portability), and lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country. To exercise any right, write to us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data (encryption in transit, access control, self-owned and managed servers). No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed absolutely secure.

9. Cookies

The website does not currently use analytics or marketing cookies. Only cookies strictly necessary to operate the website (such as your language preference) and to protect the forms (Turnstile) are used. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

The website may contain links to other sites (social media platforms, WhatsApp). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

11. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page, and the published version applies to your use of the website after its publication.
